About

I’m an entrepreneur, mom, foodie, grateful traveler, unashamed tourist, yoga and meditation fan, living in Los Angeles since the 90’s. This blog is a natural extension of my lifestyle. Since I travel almost every quarter and sometimes stay in planes for over 10 hours for single long haul flights,  I said to myself there’s got to be a better way to occupy my hours before landing, than to  watch re-runs or new movies that do not really interest me .

Though I try my best to catch up on sleep while inflight, much luck is needed to catch some zzz’s in those elbow and leg room restricted economy seats . You know what I mean, sitting there for hours are  just a pain in the b*tt both figuratively and literally. So the aha moment happened last year while traveling to Lisbon. I was dreading the torture of sitting for hours and being unproductive. So a light bulb lit up. Why not use the hours to type away the freshly minted impressions in my memory of my recent travels? This way I get to share my experiences , preserve the memories and hopefully help one or two travelers with valuable tips and take-aways. Thus, the “Gourmand Traveler” blog was born.

This blog will share the “good, the bad and the ugly” as the famous Clint Eastwood movie would say. But really, will strive to deliver the FUN, FOOD and FRENZY that captures each exciting city, one travel at a time. Thank you for joining me. Namaste!
